Saturday 5 May marks the resumption of free train rides for childern on the Miniature Railway for 2018, and we look forward to seeing all our young visitors coming to enjoy the train rides. Over the winter, Society members were busy performing track and locomotive maintenance, and all the other tasks that are required to keep trains moving. In particular, the program of sleeper replacement has made substantial progress on both the raised and ground level tracks. Some new projects are also underway. Visitors are welcome to visit the Society any Tuesday or Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm. Details of the location of the club house and railway can be found on the Directions Page. The Dublin Society of Model & Experimental Engineers (DSMEE) held a very successful Open Day on Sunday 24 Sept 2017. Both the usual raised track and the ground level lines were in operation, carrying passengers. Over 1,000 visitors came to see us during the course of the day. On this unique day, adults were also carried on the trains, in contrast to the normal children-only service. The club house was also be open to members of the public and a range of trains and other engineering models, produced by DSMEE members was on  display. It is proposed to hold another open day in September 2018. (updated 29/4/2018)
